Why Hire a West Valley City Personal Injury Lawyer?

If you've been hurt in a crash on I-215, Bangerter Highway, 3500 South, 5400 South, and Redwood Road, or anywhere in the West Valley City area, you're about to fight an insurance company with an entire playbook built to pay you less. They start that playbook the hour of the crash — before you've even seen a doctor. A West Valley City personal injury lawyer changes that math.

LawyerUp is based in Utah and built around a specific problem: most injury firms hand your totaled vehicle off to the adjuster, who then lowballs your car and quietly uses that lowball settlement to weaken your bodily injury claim. We don't. We're Utah's only dual-claim firm — we fight for your full car value and your full injury recovery in one case. Our founding partner Brad DeBry has been doing this since 1996, has tried cases across the state, and holds the state's $58.5M record personal injury verdict.

West Valley City Crashes We Handle Every Week

West Valley City sits in Salt Lake County, with a population of ~140,000 (Utah's second-largest city). The traffic patterns here mean certain crash types show up over and over in our intake — especially merge-lane collisions on I-215, rear-end crashes on Bangerter, and commercial-vehicle incidents along the warehouse corridors.

The highest-volume corridors we see West Valley City cases from are I-215, Bangerter Highway, 3500 South, 5400 South, and Redwood Road, and the hotspot in particular is the Bangerter Highway express lanes and the 3500 South commuter corridor. If you were hit there, we've likely handled something similar within the last 90 days.

Cases we take in West Valley City: car accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle crashes, wrongful death, slip and fall, dog bites, medical malpractice, and the vehicle property damage claim that comes with a crash.

What Happens After Your First Call

One call, one firm, one settlement. You don't chase a PI attorney, a property damage adjuster, a car rental company, and a diminished value appraiser separately. We handle all of it. That's what dual-claim means, and it's why LawyerUp exists.

Why West Valley City Chooses LawyerUp

A West Valley City crash guide: 201, 215 and the busy streets between

West Valley City is Utah's second-largest city, and it is crossed by some of the valley's busiest roads: SR-201, I-215, Bangerter Highway, 3500 South and 5600 West. It is a city of commuters, warehouses and big event nights, and those produce different kinds of crashes.

Freeway crashes on SR-201 and I-215

Crashes on the freeways are usually worked by the Utah Highway Patrol, while crashes on city streets are usually handled by West Valley City Police. Request the report from the agency that actually responded. Freeway crashes often involve several vehicles, and in a chain-reaction crash every insurer will try to push fault onto someone else. Get the names and insurance of every driver involved, not just the one who hit you.

Commercial and delivery traffic

The industrial and warehouse areas on the west side put semis and delivery vans on the same streets as families. When a work vehicle hits you, the employer can be responsible, and the insurance limits are usually higher. Photograph the company name and any USDOT number on the vehicle before it leaves.

TRAX, buses and event traffic

The TRAX Green Line reaches West Valley Central, and UTA buses run along the major corridors. Concerts and games at the Maverik Center fill the surrounding streets at night. A crash with a UTA vehicle is a claim against a government entity: a written notice of claim is due within one year under Utah Code § 63G-7-402, far sooner than the regular deadlines.

Pedestrians on wide streets

Wide, fast streets like 3500 South are hard to cross. Utah treats pedestrians and cyclists as vulnerable users of a highway under § 41-6a-706.5, and a pedestrian hit by a car in Utah can get PIP benefits under that car's policy under § 31A-22-308, even without a policy of their own.

When the other driver has no insurance

Too many drivers carry no insurance or only the minimum. Your own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage may be what actually pays. Utah insurers must offer it and a rejection has to be in writing, so many people have it without knowing. Find your declarations page before you talk to anyone.

When the driver ran

Hit-and-runs leave people thinking there is nobody to make a claim against. There usually is: your own insurance.

Utah's uninsured motorist law counts an unidentified vehicle that left the scene as an uninsured vehicle, under Utah Code § 31A-22-305(2). So the coverage you bought for an uninsured driver can pay when you never learn who hit you.

To protect that claim:

The same statute also treats a driver as uninsured when their liability insurer disputes coverage for more than 60 days. Delay by the other side's company is not the end of the road.

Get checked, and keep going

It is not the time to be brave. See a doctor, tell them everything that hurts, and keep the appointments. Missed appointments look like you got better.
